Unlike every other article I’m narrating this in a very lively manner. I’m waiting to onboard a flight. Let me set the genre of it also - is it tragedy or comedy? Even I’m confused 😐. Downloaded around 22 songs for the next 2 hours. There is an uncle who is interestingly chatting over a video call. Families are having loud conversations. Some people are really quiet to the fact that they have come alone like me and they have nobody to talk. A kid is waiting near the closed transparent gate and shouting that the plane is landing towards him. I could see the excitement in his voice. Yeah!!
If you ask if this article is gonna be my flight experience. No it’s not. Have you ever thought about how much efforts and time we spend to choose a dress, just a cloth which covers the most underrated best friend of each one of us - “the body”. Do we all really give that much amount of time and efforts to take of our body? Ok it’s too weird to type out body every time. Let me put a nickname for our best friend “the body soda”. This article is about the my journey with my body soda.
In what state I am sitting right now, I have been experiencing severe stomach pain and loose stools for past two days and my body soda helped me to cope up with it. Now I am exactly walking towards the flight. There is this daughter and father who are going ahead of me. The little angel falls down and she started crying so loudly. I notice a little small blood stain on her knees. Then her father is taking her in his hands and hugging her. Somehow the intensity of crying slows down. Is this all our body needs? Woah. Are we giving this pampering to it? They are announcing the captain name Ajay. Just reminded me of several AJs, especially the AJ from (180 rules) Nee Korinal. Yeah I have been a Siddharth fan since my childhood. The flight just took off. I thought my tummy would go mad, but it managed. My head is having a very strange feeling. But still it’s coping up guys. How many things our body does to us on a daily basis? Some of the experiences I’m going to share today are really critical moments of my life where my body soda saved me.
It was during my 7th grade. There was this time where my final exams were going on. I paused writing for a while, because my tummy got disturbed and I was calming it down by saying positive words. Ok let’s continue, That time I had severe ear pain all throughout the night. We were in a small town. So waited till 5 am to go to a hospital, had some injections and then went ahead and attended my Maths exam, managed to get above 95 percent also. The credit goes to my body soda only. Now also my ears are getting blocked not that when I think about this nostalgic incident but the flight is going at such an altitude.
Body soda ngrathu enaku velia koopudra Peru, ullukulla rathakalari nu oru peru iruku theriyuma unaku, Aal yarunu mattu sollu avana nasuku nasukunu nasuki thooki veesiren
likewise my body tackled that exam. But it always gives me “Be careful” warnings. Sometimes your body becomes your best helping friend when there is a critical situation.
Then again during my 10th grade. It was during my public practicals exam. I had continuous vomiting and severe fever too. Again our body soda acted like a hero and made me to do the practicals well. Thank god I was in Tamilnadu, took the advantage of the actual gap between the practicals and theoretical exams. We went to a doctor who is an alumni of our school. She suggested to go for a blood test. The blood test was taken and we were waiting for the results. The body soda was also eagerly waiting. The result was dengue positive. I was shocked and my parents were also. But our body soda got ready to fight. He/ she has been a fighter since birth.
Why am I telling he/she as a fighter because, the way I was born was little critical. We all might have watched this scene from the movie Nanban. Yes that pregnancy scene, where in the mother wouldn’t be able to push and head had to be taken out. The same way my head was taken out using that vacuum extractor. I always tease myself with a false fact may be that pressure given while taking out my head might have exceeded the limit that’s why I turned out to be an over thinker.
What all it had gone through during that dengue phase was such huge. Suddenly I got my periods. It was not even my periods phase but I got it. The platelets were going down. My weight was reducing. I started blabbering at some point. During one night, I woke up and told my mom there was this neighbour aunty who was standing outside and asked her to open the door. Even when she opened the door and proved me that there was nobody, I told her that the was somebody standing there.
Mummy anga yaro irukanga ( you could relate if you remember VediMuthu )
Those were worst nightmare days I could ever think off. But body soda never gave up. He/she helped me loads during that time.
I paused writing for sometime. AJ drifted the plane in one direction. My body wanted some rest. I gave it and gave it some familiarity with the downloaded songs. The current song is “love me like you do” by Ellie Goulding. If you haven’t heard this song, go listen to it. It’s such dope. Don’t feel ashamed to hear it. Be proud to be a lover of this song. We all have to be our own body lovers. The next in the line is “Don’t be shy again” from the movie Bala👴. Enjoying the song while I’m starring at the clouds. I felt excited. Body soda is now kinda ok. Let’s go back to our flashback stories. Hypnotising rings… (classic Pratap Pothen’s scene)
This happened when I was at my college. I don’t feel feared to share this right here. I want victims to come out and voice out rather than tolerating. I asked my so called ex boy friend why was he not attending exams and he slapped me multiple times. My face got swollen and it got reddish like cherries. I never opened my mouth about this to anyone except very few close friends. That time my body was shivering and was crying such hugely. But somehow my body soda helped me to drive my own vehicle and come back to my home. Now the track is Nenjukul Peidhidum from Varanam aayiram. Harris never missed to amaze us with his own magic. Meanwhile AJ is thanking us and wishing us to have a pleasant stay at Chennai. The expected time of Arrival is 8.36 am. Okay let me try to finish it off before we land.
My tummy saved me today almost. Likewise everyday we are having tonnes of moments where our body soda is doing loads of things for us. What are we doing for our body soda back? Take a moment to think about this. Give your thanks giving to your body through healthy foods, healthy snacks, physical activity etc. From today onwards, I have taken the following oath. I wish everybody of you also take this oath and continue following it.
“My body is a wonder. It has been doing loads of things for me. I will take care of it in every possible way I can”
Love you all. With a big smile from body soda with Oru Nalil song (ever green Yuvan’s magical track) at the flight that is about to be landed safely by AJ (mind voice: Maara Nama jeichutom).Happy reading.
